Revised by the Cria Caballar in 2003 as a breeding stallion, Kestrel adds a beautiful head and great motion to his foals. He is well balanced with great bone and straight legs. His foals have his strong hind legs and beautiful topline. He has a sweet temperament and incredible presence. He is regularly trail ridden with other horses.

Kestrel's first two foals, Aaliyah, out of an Arabian mare and Valencia, out of a Quarter Horse mare, went Champion and Reserve Champion in the Region 1 Part-bred Futurity in September 2002. At this year's Futurity, Kestrel's Azteca colt, Murcielago ST, won Champion Half-Andalusian Weanling Futurity Colt and his Half-Arab filly, Carrera ST, who is a full sister to Aaliyah, won Champion Half-Andalusian Weanling Futurity Filly. This year Aaliyah won Reserve Champion Futurity Filly. Kestrel's half sister, Modena, won Champion Futurity Filly.
